Question by *Owais*: What to wear when praying in Islam for Muslim men?
i know that you have to wear pants/trousers that pass your knee cap and t-shirts/jumpers that come down past you belly button and cover your butt

Ok so what is the rule for the sleeves for men? Where do they have to end? Can they end just before the elbow (in between the shoulders and elbow)????

Thank you so much!!

As far as I know It is Makrooh (reprehensible) to wear short sleeves in salaah. You should wear sleeves that cover the elbows.

Hope this helps.

Men in Islam must wear loosed clean clothes while praying. The clothes have no restriction to match any cultural or ethnic flavour. The reason they should be loosed, modest and clean is to respect that this is a communication between the Creator and Creature.

However, if there is reason for not to have these kind of clothes available easily for some reason, a man must be wearing a loosed outfit covering starting from Belly Button to Knee.

it is compulsary for men to cover the (Aurah),
and it is not liked (makrooh) to wear short pants even if they cover the Aurah, Respect should be shown in the prayers.
**** Aurah for men is the area between kness up to the belly button and including these points.
