Question by Ace: What’s better to be, classic or trendy when it comes to fashion?
I say classic, but with more modern silouhettes and lines on the clothing that make the wear look slim, lean, and long. You can never go wrong with classic patterns and tweeds over the whole layered tees, shirts, and jeans looks that people seem to think are fashionable. To me if you want to be fashionable you have to layer with panache, style, sophistication in all the right places with sport/dress shirts, cashmere sweaters, trousers or classy jeans made from the finest raw indigo denim , and the perfect pair of lace-up oxford dress shoes. If you want to be taken seriously don’t even wear a pair of sneakers.

Classic because you can get the most wear out of your clothes. Spending lots of money on trendy things in not practical because in just a short time, you can no longer wear it. Spend money on classic pieces and buy a few inexpensive trendy accessories.
To be honest I can agree with what your saying, but I also I can not agree. FASHION is about expressing your individual taste. Classic is modern and chic like audrey Hepburn, and Coco Chanel, but just because your classy doesn’t mean your fashionable. Trendy is fashion if you know what trends are in, then you would know that classy is only one type of trend in 09 including designers such as Oscar, Karl, and Chanel, but really the big trend is NEON which includes huge designers like, Marc Jacobs, Betsy Johnson, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, DKNY, Balenciaga ect.. So what your saying is not fashion it is just class. Fashion is outside of the box, not inside.

i agree. classic pieces will last long and always work, while trendy may equal tacky or tasteless.
Classic, because what is classic is always trendy, but trendy is only trendy for a while
Out of the two, classic, but only if that’s what you like. Otherwise you look silly because you look uncomfortable in the clothes. But I would go with classic over trendy because you have to keep buying lots of clothes to stay trendy and you can’t wear the old ones once they’re not cool. It’s easier to just not be cool!
Wearing things that you like and that suit you is the main thing, then you always look good regardless of whether you’re following fashion
I agree with all of this
Plus with classic you don’t have to buy as much stuff lol. And if a person has the right air and grace, they can wear the same outfit everyday and still be classy.
Classic because: it never goes “out of fashion”, it doesn’t look too “try hard”, you can dress it up with nice shoes or accessories (girls). Also if they classic items you are wearing are good quality….which I’m guessing they are…. (Ralph Lauren)
then the outfit overall looks more refined and stylish than a “trendy” fashiony outfit.
I agree – classic always – maybe some classic styles are not in fashion, but who cares- I’d rather look dressed than some of the so called fashions that are popular theses days
